SimpleLink CC32xx SDK

CC3235 and CC3220 Software Development kit and Firmware.

Contains drivers for the CC3235 and CC3220 programmable MCU, sample applications, peripheral drivers, and documentation.

SimpleLink CC31xx plugin

CC3135 and CC3120 Software Development kit and Firmware.

The SDK can be used with TI’s MSP432 LaunchPad kits or SimpleLink Studio, a PC tool that allows MCU development with CC31xx devices. You can also use the SDK as example code for any platform.

SimpleLink Wi-Fi starter pro

The SimpleLink Wi-Fi Starter Pro mobile App is a new mobile application for SimpleLink provisioning.

CC3200 SDK

The CC3200 SDK contains drivers for the integrated programmable MCU, 40+ sample applications for Wi-Fi features, internet applications, and peripheral functions with associated documentation.

Uniflash tool

A standalone tool used to program the external flash memory.

Radio testing tool

Send commands to configure Wi-Fi in different test operation modes (receive and transmit).

  • This tool is required for regulatory certification.

Code Composer Studio

An integrated development environment (IDE) that supports TI's microcontroller and embedded processors portfolio.

IAR embedded workbench

IAR Embedded Workbench Kickstart for MSP MCUs is a complete debugger and C/C++ compiler toolchain for building and debugging embedded applications based on MSP430™ and MSP432 microcontrollers.

Open source GCC for MSP MCUs

TI has partnered with Red Hat to offer a new and fully supported open source compiler as the successor to the community driven MSPGCC. These free GCC compilers support all MSP430 and MSP432 devices without code size limitations.

SimpleLink Studio for CC31xx

A PC based tool used to mimic MCU control of the CC31xx devices.

Flash programming: services and tools

TI offers several hardware and software solutions for performing both in-system and off-board programming MSP devices.

  • In-system programming is a method to program the MSP device after it has been installed on the PCB. This is useful if the device needs to have firmware updates at the last minute, such as in manufacturing to store product calibration values or product-specific ID information.
  • Off-board programming is a method to program the MSP device before it has been installed on the PCB. This is typically performed on multiple devices at the same time, allowing for a high volume throughput.

We understand that the programming solutions offered directly from TI may not meet every customer’s needs. Below is a non-comprehensive list of known third parties that support MSP430 during various stages of your MSP430 programming journey.
