1.2 What is CAN FD?

The CAN FD communication protocol is an upgrade to the original CAN bus standard (also known as "Classic CAN"). It helps increase in-vehicle network data rates and throughput, supporting data rates up to 5Mbps and payloads up to 64 bytes, and is widely used in automotive applications.
