Introduction

The UCC2183XXQEVM-123 is a compact, half-bridge gate driver board consisting of two single-channel isolated gate drivers. The evaluation module provides isolated bias supply, drive current, protection and monitoring needed for driving several different models of Wolfspeed silicon-carbide (SiC) MOSFET modules and other IGBT or SiC MOSFET modules with a similar pinout. The onboard isolated bias can provide adjustable isolated voltage with passive component change.

The compact form factor of the board, combined with the 5kVRMS reinforced isolation of the UCC2183XX, makes this module a good candidate for doing high-voltage tests, such as double-pulse tests and short-circuit tests, with the Wolfspeed SiC modules.

This user's guide describes the characteristics, operation and use of the UCC2183XXQEVM-123 Evaluation Module (EVM).

A complete schematic diagram, printed circuit board layouts, and bill of materials are included in this document.
