Voltage Reference Monitor

The LM684x5-Q1 includes redundant voltage reference and a window comparator for continuous monitoring of both the primary and redundant voltage references. When the voltage references are more than ±5% from each other at start-up, the device never starts. If the voltage references drift away from each other by more than ±5% during the steady state operation, the switching action stops immediately and the nFAULT pin latches low.

The voltage reference monitor is active even when the nFAULT pin is shorted to GND and other safety features disabled.
