4.2 Reducing Log Output

In the default boot process, the boot log is printed over the serial port during booting. Printing logs greatly increases boot time, while reducing log output can speed up booting by several seconds. See also Adding quiet to Device Tree for relevant steps. After reducing log output and trimming the kernel, the kernel startup time is reduced to approximately 1s.
