1 Introduction

The SITARA AM62Ax family of processors includes the AM62A3 and AM62A7 processors. TI provides several out-of-the-box image files for this chip family, allowing users to quickly burn model image files using a burning tool for development debugging. However, after developing a user application using the default image and deploying the processor in actual products, developers often encounter the issue that the application takes too long to boot after power-on: With the default image used, as well as an SD card used as the boot media, a single boot cycle often takes more than 20 seconds. Such a long boot time is below end users' expectations. To satisfy the need for fast boot, we must modify the boot process, change the boot media, trim the operating system, and so forth.
