Feedback Resistors (RFB1 and RFB2)

Resistors RFB1 and RFB2 establish the output voltage setpoint. Based on a selected value for the lower feedback resistor RFB2, calculate the upper feedback resistor RFB1 from Equation 16.

Equation 16. R F B 1 = V O U T - 1.225 V 1.225 V × R F B 2

In general, a good starting point for RFB2 is in the range from 1kΩ to 10kΩ. A resistance of 5.11kΩ is selected for RFB1 and a resistance of 1.65kΩ is selected for RFB2 to achieve a 5V output setpoint for this design example.
