7.3.2 Compliance Test Modes

Note: See also the DP83TC812, DP83TC813, and DP83TC814: Configuring for Open Alliance Specification Compliance application note for more information about the register settings used for compliance testing. Use these register settings to achieve the same performance as observed during compliance testing.

the DP83TC814-Q1 supports all four PMA compliance test modes required in IEEE 802.3bw, sub-clause 96.5.2. These compliance test modes include:

  • Transmitter waveform power spectral density (PSD) mask
  • Amplitude
  • Distortion
  • 100BASE-T1 Leader jitter
  • 100BASE-T1 Follower jitter
  • Droop
  • Transmitter frequency
  • Frequency tolerance
  • Return loss
  • Mode conversion

Use any of the three GPIOs to output TX_TCLK for the 100BASE-T1 Follower jitter measurement. For routing TX_TCLK to CLKOUT pin for 100BASE-T1 Follower Jitter measurement, write to register 0x045F = 0x000D. Configure the device in Follower mode.
