Overview

The XTR1xx family is a combination of precision amplifiers and highly-matched resistors primarily optimized for precision 2-wire transmitter application, although can still be used in general-purpose precision applications. The amplifiers within XTR1xx have state-of-the-art, proprietary, precision zero-drift technology offering ultra-low input offset voltage and drift. The amplifiers operate from 1.7V to 5.5V, are unity-gain stable, feature 1.0MHz bandwidth, 55nV/√Hz noise spectral density for only 40μA of typical quiescent current per amplifier, and no 1/f noise.

The XTR1xx has two integrated resistors 10kΩ and 40kΩ, creating an ultra-precise ratio of 1:4 with less than 0.05% tolerance, and ±2ppm/°C drift. XTR100 comes in 6-pin DBV package compatible with common 5-pin SOT-23 op amp pinout. XTR102 has an extra resistor of 480kΩ and a dedicated input for HART modulation signal. XTR120 is a super-set of XTR102 in addition to a second zero-drift precision amplifier that can be used to actively filter PWM signals. All XTR1xx family devices are specified over the industrial temperature range from –40°C to +125°C.

The ultra-low amplifier offset drift, and ultra-low resistor ratio drift in addition to low noise enables unprecedented transmitter precision. When combined with ultra-low-power, ultra-low voltage, and small package, these features make the XTR1xx an excellent choice for building precision 4mA – 20mA transmitter. The DBV package offers a smooth transition from discrete implementation to XTR100. The support for HART input and PWM input confirms a wide range of applications. In addition, the wide bandwidth offers high reliability and better EMC features.
