Introduction

The Texas Instruments LMR60460QEVM evaluation module helps designers evaluate the operation and performance of the LMR604x0-Q1 wide-input buck converters. The LMR60460-Q1 is an easy-to-use, synchronous, step-down DC/DC converter capable of delivering up to 6A of load current from an input voltage of 6V up to 36V. The LMR60460QEVM features an output voltage of 5.0V and a switching frequency of 400kHz that can support a load up to 6A.

The LMR60460-Q1 is available in a 9-pin VBC WQFN package with preprogrammed settings to reduce component count and achieve high density designs. The LMR60460QEVM comes with the variant LMR604605SVBCRQ1, which allows for adjustable output voltage, adjustable switching frequency, external synchronization, and spread spectrum options. See the LMR60460-Q1 3V to 36V, 6A, Automotive, Synchronous, Buck Converter Optimized for High Power Density, Low EMI, and Low Output Capacitance data sheet for detailed information. The EVM uses the LMR60460 with the following features:

  • Wide input voltage range
  • Wide duty-cycle range
  • Integrated high-side and low-side power MOSFETs
  • Cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection
  • Internal loop compensation
  • Designed for low electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements
