The magnet pivots around the X-axis by distance Arc Length which is measured in degrees for the Hinge rotation format. Normal lid-close simulations have a displacement in the Y-direction for both the magnet and sensor with each separated by some distance in the Z-direction. As the magnet pivots, the magnet typically arcs upward away from the sensor. The simulation resolution can be set using the step size as described in Section 4.3.
