SYS Regulation

The BQ25185 includes a SYS voltage regulation loop. By regulating the SYS voltage, the device prevents downstream devices connected to SYS from being exposed to voltages as high as VIN_OVP. SYS regulation is active only when VIN > VUVLO, VIN > VBAT + VSLEEP and VIN < VIN_OVP.

If the ILIM/VSET pin is configured for a VBATREG setting higher than 4.3V, the device regulates the SYS voltage in battery tracking mode. As the battery voltage increases, VSYS is regulated to 225mV above the battery voltage. If the battery voltage is less than 3.6V, VSYS is regulated to VMINSYS. This regulation ensures proper termination of the battery even if VDPPM is active.
