ADVANCE INFORMATION
The device uses an integrating delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (CCADC) for current measurement. The CCADC measures charge and discharge flow of the battery by measuring the voltage drop across a very small external sense resistor. The CCADC measures a bipolar signal from a range of –100mV to 100mV where a positive value of VSRP – VSRN indicates charge current and a negative value indicates discharge current.
The external sense resistor can be as low as 0.5mΩ and the polarity of the differential voltage determines if the cell is in the CHARGE or DISCHARGE mode.
