Configuration used for the performance numbers are:

  • NAND Flash part number is MT29F2G08ABCWP
  • 16-bit NAND device
  • 1 Page size = 1024 words + 32 spare data words
  • 1 block size = 64 pages
  • Timing information about the NAND Flash:
    • The page read initiates the transfer of 2048 bytes of data from the flash array to the data register that requires a time of 25 µs
    • The random read command helps to access the data from any column address in a page with an initial access time of min 80 ns
    • 1 page write costs a time of about 220-300 µs
    • Sequential read time per byte is 50 ns
