Transceiver Firmware Update

Although TI owns the development of the firmware running on the CC1407P, the end user still plays a critical role in the security story of the device.

Your CC1407P comes preloaded with trusted firmware, but updates from TI, which can provide additional security or additional features, are supported. The CC1407P comes equipped with a Secure Serial Bootloader (SSBL). An example, ssbl_host, is available in the TRX plugin, that can be used to download new firmware. SmartRF Studio 8 can also be used to update the transceiver firmware.

Note: If you are not able to update the firmware using SmartRF Studio or the ssbl_host, please contact TI.
