7.1 Application Information

The TPD4S480-Q1 provides 4-channels of short-to-VBUS overvoltage protection for the CC1, CC2, SBU1, and SBU2 pins of the USB Type-C connector, and 4-channels of IEC ESD protection for the CC1, CC2, SBU1, and SBU2 pins of the USB Type-C connector. The TPD4S480-Q1 provides adequate system protection as well as ensuring that proper system operation is maintained. The following application example explains how to properly design the TPD4S480-Q1 into a USB Type-C system.
