Output Voltage

The LM5192 output voltage can be programmed from 1V to 24V in 10mV steps or from 3.3V to 48V in 20mV steps by setting the VOUT_COMMAND register. Prior to programming the output voltage, select the output voltage step size and range by setting the SEL_FB_DIV20 bit in the MFG_DEVICE_CFG_D1 device configuration register according to Table 7-4.

Table 7-4 Output Voltage Step Size and Range Selection
SEL_FB_DIV20 OUTPUT VOLTAGE STEP SIZE MODE OF OPERATION OUTPUT VOLTAGE RANGE
0b0 10mV PFM 1V – 22.5V
FPWM 1V – 24V
0b1 20mV PFM 3.3V – 45V
FPWM 3.3V – 48V
Note: When in PFM mode, set the OUT_OF_AUDIO bit in MFG_DEVICE_CFG_D9 register to allow full output voltage range in PFM mode.

For controlled output voltage ramp up and ramp down times, adjust the output voltage slew rate by setting the VOUT_SLEW_RATE bits according to Table 7-4. Note that the effective output slew rate can be affected by the average, peak, and negative current limits when charging or discharging output capacitors. When in PFM mode, the output voltage slew rate is limited by the load current and the set active discharge current.

Table 7-5 Output Voltage Slew Rate Selection
VOUT_SLEW_RATE VOUT SLEW RATE
(20mV VOUT STEP SIZE) (10mV VOUT STEP SIZE)
0b00 40mV/μs 20mV/μs
0b01 20mV/μs 10mV/μs
0b10 1mV/μs 0.5mV/μs
0b11 0.5mV/μs 0.25mV/μs
