On the left side of the Figure 3-8, there is the Hardware Setup control. The I2C broadcast communication mode is selected by default. After clicking the CONFIGURE & EDIT button, the Mode selection control is enabled for input and the hardware is disconnected. Independent mode can be selected from the Mode pulldown menu. Then click CONFIGURE & CONNECT to initiate the hardware connection through the independent I2C communication mode.

On the right side of the Figure 3-8, there are two shortcuts that navigate to LED Control Page and Register Map Page through clicking the corresponding START button.
