Comparators – Applications
TI offers high performance comparators for a wide variety of automotive, industrial and personal electronic systems. With a broad portfolio tailored to meet a variety of system requirements, from ultra-low power to high speed, our comparators will help you meet the performance specifications of your next design.
Design for accurate over-and-under voltage detection
Over-and-under voltage detection prevents damage and enables proper circuit operation. Comparators are commonly used to monitor voltage and help ensure it remains within a desired
threshold.

Protect your system with fast over current detection
Over-current detection is necessary to prevent damage and proper circuit operation. A comparator measures the differential voltage across a shunt resistor to determine if the current being monitored exceeds a defined limit.

Use a comparator to indicate over temperature
Determining when temperature rises above a certain threshold is important for many applications. A comparator can be used with a thermistor to detect when a certain temperature rises above a threshold.
