Device Functional Modes

The OPAx828 are operational when the applied power supply voltage is between ±4 V and ±18 V. When operating the OPAx828 devices, self-heating occurs. Device self-heating is a function of the power-supply voltage and power delivered to the load. Under heavy loading conditions and elevated ambient temperatures, the OPAx828 can enter thermal shutdown. Thermal shutdown occurs when the OPAx828 junction temperature exceeds approximately 165°C. When in thermal shutdown, the OPAx828 return to normal operation when the junction temperature cools to approximately 145°C.
