TPS61383-Q1 supports battery low, high temperature monitoring function by sensing the voltage on the TS pin. The negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor in battery is connected within a resistor network (shown in Figure 6-17). TS pin sources 38uA into the resistor network and generates voltage on the TS pin during charger and SOH mode. Battery charging is allowed only when the TS pin voltage stays between VCOLD and VHOT thresholds (188mA to approximately1.04V). If the battery temperature exceeds normal range and TS pin voltage goes beyond the thresholds, the device stops charging and set the TS_FAULT bit to 1 (Register 0CH: FAULT_CONDITION). After battery temperature returns to normal range and TS pin voltage returns between threshold, charging operation resumes automatically.
The temperature window is modified by the resistance of the resistor network:

Taking 103AT-2 as an example, the recommended resistor values for different temperature charging windows are given in the following table:

If temperature sensing is not required in the application, connect a fixed 10kΩ resistor from TS to GND to disable temperature sensing and protection.
