DLP LightCrafter Single DLPC900 EVM and DMD EVM Assembly

The DLP single DLPC900 EVM requires a suitable DMD EVM such as the DLPLCR65EVM.

  • The flex cable provided with the DMD EVM has one end marked "DMD End" with key pins arranged diagonally that only fit one way onto the DMD board preventing attachment to the wrong side of the board. Place the insulated backer plate on the other side of the DMD board from the flex side with connection pins and carefully tighten the screws. Alternate tightening the screws from side to side until the screws are firm, but not overtightened (SCREW TORQUE REQUIREMENT: 6-8 in-lb [0.7-0.9 N-m]). Figure 5-9 shows the flex cable DMD ends correctly assembled to an example DMD board.
  • The other end of the flex cable attaches to the single DLPC900 controller board. The key pins are arranged laterally symmetric and are able to be inserted from either side of the controller board. To ensure the cables are connected to the correct side of the single DLPC900 controller board, check that the connection flex pins are facing the pads shown in Figure 5-8. Place the insulated backer plate on the other side of the controller board from the flex side with pins and carefully tighten the screws. Alternate tightening the screws from side to side until the screws are firm, but not overtightened (SCREW TORQUE REQUIREMENT: 6-8 IN*LB [0.7-0.9 N*m]). Figure 5-9 shows the flex cable ends correctly assembled to the single DLPC900 controller board.
