If the timer outputs are driving power stages, the overcurrent (undercurrent) or overvoltage (undervoltage) signals from the power stage can be connected to fault pins. These fault signals can be monitored by the timer. The timer can be configured to take the output to a safe state by appropriately configuring the fault entry action.
