OVERVOLTAGE Mode

OVERVOLTAGE mode is detected if any of the cell voltages exceed the overvoltage threshold, VOV, for a configured OV delay time. The OUT pin is activated after a delay time pre-programmed at the factory. This pin is typically used to then enable an external FET and blow a fuse to disable the pack. When all of the cell voltages fall below (VOV – VHYS) and remain above the VUVREG threshold, the device returns to NORMAL mode if the output is not configured to latch when asserted. The regulated output remains enabled in this mode if all cell voltages are above VUVREG.
