Input Capacitor Selection

TI recommends a minimum input capacitance (including DC bias effects) of 5µF. A 10µF, 6.3V or 22µF, 10V ceramic capacitor is designed for typical applications. If the input supply is located more than a few centimeters from the converter, add additional bulk capacitance (a 47µF electrolytic or tantalum capacitor is a typical choice).
