While one may chose different values of slope compensation for different applications, a commonly suggested ideal value for slope compensation is defined as the output voltage divided by the inductor size as shown in Equation 21.
For this design, the suggested value is 1.5A/μs. Using Equation 8, the suggested value of RSC is calculated to be 634kΩ. However, in this specific application example, it was decided to have more slope compensation than suggested which provided additional margin and suitability of testing different configurations. Therefore, a value of 200kΩ is used which results in 3.2A/μs.
