7.3.18 Parallel Post Filters

The ADS125P08 integrates parallel post filters to enable filter notches at targeted frequencies without reducing the data rate.

As shown in Figure 7-30, up to 8 post filters are available to use in parallel. These filters are cascaded moving average filters. The filter order and number of averages are user programmable. The post filters are similar to traditional sinc filters with the difference that there is no decimation within the parallel filters. The input data rate of each post filter equals the output data rate once the filter is settled.

The sequencer must be enabled to use the post filters. The parallel filters are reset whenever the sequencer starts or restarts.
