The TMAG5131-Q1 is an ultra-low-power, low voltage, high precision, Hall-effect sensor, designed for the most compact and battery-critical automotive applications. The device is offered in multiple magnetic thresholds, sampling rates and output types to accommodate various applications.

When the applied magnetic flux density exceeds the operating point (B OP) threshold, the device outputs a low voltage. The output stays low until the flux density decreases to less than the release point (B RP), and then the device outputs a high voltage. Omnipolar magnetic response allows the output to be sensitive to both north and south magnetic fields.

The TMAG5131-Q1 is internally power cycled to operate at a very low current consumption. The 20 Hz versions have current consumption of 2 µA at 3 V.

The TMAG5131-Q1 is available in the industry-standard package and pin out SOT-23.

The device operates at a V CC range of 1.65 V to 5.5 V as well as an extended temperature range of –40°C to 125°C.

The TI-MAGNETIC-SENSE-SIMULATOR (TIMSS) webtool estimates magnetic flux density and TI magnetic sensor outputs for magnetic position sensing systems. The tool has device emulation and supports various magnet shapes, grades and motion types.
