In case the EPHY and MDI (copper or fiber) interface including the magnetics and the RJ45 connector are implemented on the processor board, the recommendation is to follow the SK or EVM implementation for MDI interface connections, recommended magnetics (recommending using the magnetic used on the SK or EVM or similar) and connection of RJ45 connector shield to circuit ground. Provision for external ESD protection is recommended.
