When JTAG interface is implemented, the recommendation is to use the TI recommended, defined and supported 20-pin connector (rather then the 10-pin ARM connector). The 10-pin JTAG connector does not include the TRSTn signal or the EMU0, EMU1 signals. The recommendation is to connect the JTAG (TDI, TCK, TMS and TRSTn) and EMU (EMU0 and EMU1) signals as per the Pin Connectivity Requirements section of the processor-specific data sheet. The recommendation is to place the pullups and pulldown (10kΩ) near to the processor JTAG interface pins.
The recommendation is to add external ESD protection for all JTAG interface and EMU0 and EMU1 signals close to the external interface connector. EMU0 and EMU1 signals support boot sequence and debug after cold reset (MCU_PORz input high). Pullup for TDO is optional and depends on the selected debugger. Optionally, the recommendation is to connect a series resistor (0Ω) on the TDO (close to processor) signal for matching JTAG tool buffer impedance.
