FGPA attach

Power-supply sequencing is a critical aspect to consider when designing with an FPGA. Failure to properly sequence the FPGA can result in excessive current drawn during startup, which can damage the FPGA. FPGAs can have from three to more than ten rails and incorrect sequencing of these rails can lead to improper device behavior. For this reason, FPGA vendors will specify the recommended power sequence for their device.

TI offers a variety of solutions that have been designed to address FPGA sequencing requirements:

  • Simple power-supply sequencers (LM388x portfolio)
  • Reset ICs with adjustable timing (TPS3860xx portfolio)
  • Power-supply sequencer and system health monitors (UCD90xxx portfolio)
