Wireless Mouse and Wireless Keyboard Solutions from TI

The wireless mouse & wireless keyboard is an omnipresent accessory to notebook and desktop PC users.

A wireless solution must be implemented with a strategy of maintaining a high-performance system while keeping power consumption to an optimum level to prolong battery life. Current hot trends in wireless mouse & wireless keyboard design, such as the nano dongle, fuel the need for small integrated circuit solutions.

TI's solutions using the CC2543/44/45 are true low-cost 2.4GHz system-on-chip (SoC) designed for low power wireless HID applications. The device combines the excellent performance of the state-of-the-art RF transceiver with an industry-standard enhanced 8051 MCU, up to 32kB of in-system programmable flash memory, data rate up to 2Mbps and many other powerful features.

The CC2544 supports full-speed USB2.0 standard, up to 6 end points of peripherals and wide input voltage range from 2V to 5V, which is a very perfect chip USB dongle application.

TI's power solutions – most notably the power boost converter – are based on a hysteretic controller topology using synchronous rectification to obtain maximum efficiency at minimal quiescent currents. The output voltage of the adjustable version can be programmed by an external resistor divider, or is set internally to a fixed output voltage.
