Power Supply Recommendations

The ADC168M102R-SEP has two separate supplies: DVDD and AVDD. Use the DVDD pin for the buffers of the digital interface and the AVDD pin for all remaining circuits.

DVDD ranges from 2.3V to 5.5V, allowing the ADC to easily interface with processors and controllers. To limit the injection of noise energy from external digital circuitry, properly filter DVDD. Place a 1µF bypass capacitor between the DVDD pin and the digital ground plane.

AVDD supplies the internal analog circuitry. For optimum performance, a linear regulator generates the analog supply voltage in a 2.7V to 5.5V range for the ADC and the necessary analog front-end.

Connect 1µF bypass capacitors to the analog ground plane such that the current flows through the pad of these capacitors. That is, place the vias on the opposite side of the connection between the capacitor and the power-supply pin of the ADC.
