6.5.1 Recommended Initial Power-Up Sequence

For the most reliable programming, TI recommends this procedure:

  1. Apply power to device.
  2. Program RESET = 1 to reset registers.
  3. Program registers as shown in the Register Maps in REVERSE order from highest address to lowest address.
    • Programming of all registers down to R0 (with FCAL_EN = 1) is required. Even registers with no documented fields must also be programmed in accordance to the Register Maps. Do NOT assume that the power on reset state and the recommended value are the same.
  4. Wait 10ms to verify that the internal LDOs has settled down
  5. Program register R0 one additional time with FCAL_EN = 1 to verify that the VCO calibration runs from a stable state.
