8.6.1.2.6 Peak Current Limit (IPK)

One purpose of the peak current limit is to protect the power inductor from saturation. Program VIPK such that the peak current limit threshold is 5% greater than Ipeak. According to Equation 9 , one gets:

Equation 87. V I P K = 105 % × I p e a k × R C S G I P K = 105 % × 41.9 A × 1 m Ω 0.05 = 0.880 V

Select RIPKB = 10kΩ and RIPKT = 30.1kΩ which results in VIPK = 0.873V, corresponding to a nominal peak inductor current limit of 43.6A per channel.
