Overview

The TIDEP-01026 reference design demonstrates the use of the AWR1843AOP, a 76-GHz to 81-GHz single-chip TI mmWave sensor with an integrated antenna for automated parking applications. The AWR1843AOP sensor also has an integrated DSP and MCU, and a hardware accelerator (HWA) for fast Fournier transform (FFT) and constant false alarm rate (CFAR) processing. The sensor helps developers achieve a faster time to market for automated parking-related applications. The unprecedented small form factor provides flexibility to Tier 1 suppliers and carmakers in planning end-use cases with small-space constraints.

  • Demonstration hardware and software using AWR1843AOP for multifunctional sensing in automated parking applications
  • Approximate field of view (FoV): ±70° azimuth, ±70° elevation
  • Signal processing for point-cloud detection handled onboard AWR1843AOP using integrated HWA, DSP, and Arm® Cortex®-R4F processor
  • Integrated antenna on package (AoP) and small form factor enables small mounting positions in bumpers
