Temperature controller

Description

Temperature controllers are specially designed for controllings temperatures in industrial environments using a PID control loop. Most devices have a universal input for measuring signals from different types of temperature sensors. Examples are thermocouples, RTDs, 0-5V, 4-20mA. Common outputs of a temperature controller are 0-10V, 4-20mA, SSR or mechanical relays.

Temperature controllers are most often connected to a PLC. RS-485 is widely used today, but also ethernet and IO link can be found.
