Failure: Links Up But No IP Address Is Assigned

MAC Port 1: link up prints but Board IP never appears. The application waits indefinitely for DHCP.

Table 4-10 IP Address Assignment Issues Summary
Cause How to Check Fix
No DHCP server on the network The PC has no DHCP server running. The board sends DISCOVER with no response. Run dnsmasq on the PC, or switch to static IP: set #define USE_DHCP 0 in lwipcfg.h:73.
The broadcast ALE entry is missing hostStats.rxBcastFrames stays zero when the PC sends the DHCP offer. Confirm the EnetApp_addMCastEntry() function at test_enet.c:147 is called before the main_loop() function.
The state of the ALE port is not FORWARD macStats.aleDrop or macStats.aleBlockDrop are incrementing. Set the state of the MAC port and host port ALE to CPSW_ALE_PORTSTATE_FORWARD.
The host PC firewall is blocking DHCP Packet capture on the PC shows DISCOVER is sent but the OFFER never leaves the interface. Disable the Windows® and Linux® firewalls on the test Ethernet interface.
