The example starts but MAC Port 1: link up never appears on the console. The portLinkStatusChangeCb registered is never called.
| Cause | How to Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Cable is not connected or faulty | Inspect the link LED on the PHY—no LED means no physical link. | Replace the cable. Verify the RJ45 connector is seated. |
| Wrong PHY address in the board configuration | The console prints PHY not detected or the EnetApp_waitForPhyAlive() function hangs. | Correct the PHY address in ti_board_config.c to match the board schematic. |
| The MDIO bus is not functional | Call ENET_MDIO_IOCTL_IS_ALIVE—returns false. | Check that the MDC and MDIO pin MUX in the example.syscfg. Verify the pullups on the MDIO line. |
| The RGMII clock delay is misconfigured | The link negotiates but drops immediately. There are CRC errors on the MAC statistics. | Tune txDelayInPs and rxDelayInPs in ti_board_config.c (Typical: 1500–2000ps). |
| External PHY mode is enabled but the PHY is driver missing | ENET_SYSCFG_ENABLE_EXTPHY=1 but the extPhyMgmt/ driver is not in build. | Register corrects the PHY driver or disables ENET_SYSCFG_ENABLE_EXTPHY in SYSCFG. |
