Failure: Ping Fails Despite Link and IP Address

The board prints an IP address ping <board-ip> from the PC and gets no reply.

Table 4-11 Ping Failure Summary
Cause How to Check Fix
The ALE is not forwarding unicast to the host port macStats.rxGoodFrames > 0 but hostStats.rxGoodFrames = 0; check macStats.portMaskDrop. Verify the ALE host port is in the FORWARD state. Check that the DA entry portmask includes bit 0.
There is DMA RX buffer starvation hostStats.rxBottomOfFifoDrop > 0. Increase numRxPkts in the EnetDma_openRxFlow() function using SYSCFG.
LwIP NETIF is not set to UP netif_is_up(&netif) returns false in debugger. Verify that the netif_set_up() function is called after the netif_add() function completes in the main_loop() function.
The ARP request dropped macStats.rxGoodFrames = 0 on the ARP of the PC. There is no response from the board. Check hostStats.aleUnknownUcast; confirm the broadcast ALE entry is present.
The PC and board are on different subnets The IP addresses differ in subnet (for example, 192.168.1.x versus 10.0.0.x). Assign the PC IP to same /24 subnet as the board; check the gateway settings.

Furthermore, if other stacks are used, for example the LLDP, gPTP, MbedTLS, and so forth, the specific examples can be tested.
