TIDA-01027
Low-noise power supply reference design maximizing performance in 12.8-GSPS data acquisition systems
TIDA-01027
Overview
This reference design demonstrates an efficient, low-noise five-rail power supply design for very high-speed Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems capable of > 12.8 GSPS. The power supply DC/DC converters are frequency-synchronized and phase-shifted in order to minimize input current ripple and control frequency content. Any potential radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI) is minimized by using high-performance HotRod™ packaging technology.
Features
- Efficient, low-noise, point-of-load DAQ power supply for very high-speed AFE
- Phase-shifting DC/DC converter clocks to reduce inrush current and power-supply noise
- External frequency sync to manage DC/DC converter spurs
- Configure output with ability to bypass each LDO and use just the DC/DC converter and filter
- Used with TIDA-01022 and TIDA-01028 to show the impact on a 12.8-GSPS AFE with 9 GHz of analog BW
