Overview

The DS90Ux988-Q1 evaluation module (EVM) is a functional board design for evaluating the DS90Ux988-Q1 FPD-Link IV to OLDI/RGB bridge device. The device partners with FPD-Link IV capable serializers such as the DS90Ux981-Q1 or DS90Ux983-Q1 serializers in FPD-Link IV mode, or FPD-Link III capable serializers such as the DS90Ux925-Q1, DS90Ux927-Q1, DS90Ux929-Q1, DS90Ux941AS-Q1 or DS90Ux949-Q1, in backward-compatible mode. The DS90Ux988-Q1EVM converts a FPD-Link III/IV interface to OLDI/RGB interface. The DS90Ux988-Q1EVM supports a dual OLDI (10 LVDS data lanes + 2 clocks) interface with up to 210 MHz PCLK per port or RGB interface. The DS90Ux988-Q1EVM supports data rates for FPD-Link IV of up to 13.5 Gbps per channel.

  • Supports up to 3.675 Gbps for FPD-Link III, and up to 13.5 Gbps for FPD-Link IV
  • Onboard I2C addresses and mode select configuration setting
  • FPD-Link IV input and daisychain over Rosenberger H-MTD connector and configurable to SMA connector by changing AC coupling capacitor orientation.
  • Includes on-board I2C controller (USB2ANY)
  • 2 OLDI ports or RGB

CDCEL913 — Programmable 1-PLL VCXO clock synthesizer with 1.8-V LVCMOS outputs

 

ESD protection diodes
TPD1E05U06 — 0.5-pF, 5.5-V, ±12-kV ESD protection diode in 0402 package for High Speed Interfaces

 

I2C & I3C level shifters, buffers & hubs
TCA9517 — 2-bit level-translating 400-kHz I2C/SMBus buffer/repeater with powered-off high-impedance

 

MSP430 microcontrollers
MSP430F5529 — 25 MHz MCU with 128KB Flash, 8KB SRAM, 12-bit ADC, comparator, DMA, UART/SPI/I2C, USB, HW multiplier
