USB3.0 interface includes signals related to USB3.0 and USB2.0 signals for backward compatibility. The recommendation is to refer above section Universal Serial Bus (USB2.0) for information related to USB2.0 signals and connection.

Connect the USB3.0 signals (differential transmit and receive) and USB2.0 signals (USB0_DP and USB0_DM) to the USB3.0 (same) connector. Splitting USB3.0 and USB2.0 signals to different connectors is not allowed (permitted) in the USB3.0 specification.

A common mode filter can be provisioned for the USB2.0 and USB3.0 differential signals as shown in the EVM schematics. Adding provision to bypass the CMC is recommended. Custom board designer is responsible for selection of the CMC that does not affect the performance.
