6.1.3.2 Clock Output

IO pin named CLKOUT0 can be configured as clock output. The clock output can be used as clock source for the attached devices (External peripherals - Example: EPHY).

PADCONFIG53 and PADCONFIG157 can be configured for MUX MODE 5 at the same time, which will source CLKOUT0 to pins U13 and A19 at the same time. Each AM64x pin has its own IO buffer and the signal multiplexing is done on the processor side of the IO buffer. Therefore, the clock output configuration is not expected to encounter any signal integrity issues due to sourcing CLKOUT0 to both pins.

The CLKOUT0 clock output performance is not defined in the processor-specific data sheet since there are a number of boards or end equipment specific dependencies that can impact the clock performance. The recommendation is to check the performance on the actual board (clock output meets board or end equipment specific requirements).
