The differential input signals are terminated with 120-Ω resistors each. COG capacitors are added for differential and common mode HF noise rejection. The differential low-pass filter’s cut-off frequency
(–3 dB) is around 6 MHz. The 10-Ω (1%) pulse-proof resistor in conjunction with Schottky-diodes clamp to the 5-V rail or GND, for ESD protection with input current limitation. Figure 4-4 shows the TIDA-00176 schematics of the input stage for the encoder’s differential signals A+ (sine) and A– (cosine).
