There are two instances of the Octal SPI Flash controller on the device. The Flash Subsystem (FSS) includes one of the OSPI instances (OSPI0). The second instance of OSPI (OSPI1) supports FOTA applications without a RWW flash, and provides a cost optimal SRAM expansion. OSPI1 does not support OptiFlash. Two instances of the Octal Serial Peripheral Interface (OSPI) support the following main features:
Eleven pin interface for single OSPI device: DQS, DQ0, DQ1, DQ2, DQ3, DQ4, DQ5, DQ6, DQ7, CSn0, CLK
Up to 133MHz SDR frequency and 133MHz DDR frequency
Support for on the fly encryption and authentication(OTFA) on OSPI0 interface. OTFA enables external memory IP protection at runtime during XIP. Option to disable OTFA. Support for 4Byte and 8 Byte MAC per 32 Byte data for increased security
Support concurrent direct read and write requests to enable Firmware over the air update(FOTA) during XIP.
