To summarize, a subtile is a subtle refinement of a tile whose purpose is to:
A subtile is defined as a 128-bit 2D block, and a tile as an array of eight lines of eight subtiles, as shown in Figure 15-16.
Figure 15-16 Tile GeometryIn any tile, the subtile Sx,y at column x (0 =< x < 8) and row y (0 =< y < 8) is found at an offset of 16.(x + 8.y) bytes from the base address of the related tile. Besides, this array organization of subtiles is common to each tiled mode. For instance, the subtile S0,1 is always located at an offset of 128 bytes (that is, 16.(0 + 8 x 1) ) from the base address of the related tile.
