The AFE539A4 is a 10-bit, quad-channel, smart analog front end (AFE). Each analog channel can be configured as a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), an analog-to-digital-converter (ADC), or a comparator. The DAC outputs are capable of both voltage and current output. The AFE539A4 supports Hi-Z power-down mode and Hi-Z output during power-off condition. The DAC outputs provide a force-sense option for use as a programmable comparator and current sink. This device has an integrated state machine that is preprogrammed as a proportional-integral (PI) controller. The AFE539A4 is an excellent choice for thermoelectric cooling (TEC) control, temperature control, and dynamic headroom control applications. The AFE539A4 is a smart AFE device because of the advanced integrated features. The multifunction GPIO, function generation, and NVM enable this smart AFE for processor-less applications and design reuse.
